Biography

Steve Perreault is Professor of Accountancy at the Providence College School of Business where he has taught courses in auditing, accounting policy, and accounting data analytics/artificial intelligence. Dr. Perreault’s research examines professional judgment and decision making in accounting and auditing contexts using behavioral decision theory as well as the determinants of employee whistleblowing. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an M.S. in Accounting from The University of Rhode Island, a B.S. in accounting from West Virginia University, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Oregon State University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Rhode Island. Prior to entering academia, Steve was an auditor in the Providence, RI office of KPMG.
