Biography

Dr. Rachel Lyons is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Providence College and a pediatric nurse practitioner with expertise in pediatric acute and primary care, nursing education, and interdisciplinary research. She earned her BS in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island, her MS in Nursing from Boston College, her DNP from Columbia University, and her PhD in Nursing from Duquesne University.

Dr. Lyons’s clinical and scholarly work focuses on pediatric health and well-being, with particular interests in environmental influences on child health, urban green space and community health, and the integration of planetary health into nursing education. She has published and presented at the regional, national, and international levels and has contributed to professional service across nursing organizations. She maintains clinical practice at Hasbro Children’s Hospital Emergency Department in Providence, Rhode Island, where she continues to integrate pediatric practice, research, and education.
