Biography
Dr. Andrea McDonnell is a media scholar and author whose work examines the intersection of discourse, gender, media representation, and contemporary politics. She is the author and editor of five books, including Reading Celebrity Gossip Magazines (2014, Polity Press), A Gossip Politic (Palgrave, 2023) and the forthcoming Gossip, part of MIT's Essential Knowledge Series.
Dr. McDonnell directs the Communication program.
